Architecture Plan Review
My favorite projects are complete remodels. I love the challenge of working with what is already in place and making the most of what a home can be. Obstacles turn into opportunities. My preference is to collaborate early in the project when ideas are being discussed or at least when architecture plans are in hand. There are so many critical decisions that need to be thought through that will have impact much later in the project. These can include: Where should decorative lighting be placed? Does the kitchen have enough room to work in the walkways? Should the island have seating on 2 sides to promote conversation? Where should the tile end? What metals are you considering? What colors should the windows be? Through my experience of helping design numerous remodels, I can help you avoid making costly mistakes that are not only expensive but also timely. -
Paint Colors
Through my years of picking out paint colors for my clients, I have my favorites and am more than happy to help you choose yours. I find homes to feel very settled when their hues echo throughout or the color value is consistent. I pay close attention to the color of tile, furniture and accessories, art, flooring, counter tops, and cabinets, so they all work together. Rooms should flow from one another and also be allowed to pop. If the exterior part of your home needs attention, I would love to consult. I am hired for this design service often. The difference exterior paint can make on a home is radical. -
Lighting
Lighting is my favorite design aspect to work with. It is the "jewelry" of the home. You can have the biggest impact when changing or choosing light fixtures. In addition to the beauty sconces, pendants, and chandeliers can offer, careful attention also needs to be paid to the function of lighting. Along with decorative lighting, non-decorative lighting needs contemplation: Can light size, lighting placement, dimmers, directional lighting for art, all need to be considered. Having a designer help you with the lighting plan is key to successful and beautiful illumination in a home. -
Furniture Selection
When choosing furniture, comfort and quality should always be your priority. Along with function, size and scale must also be prioritized. Rooms should flow from one another. I can help with mixing fabrics, patterns, and metals, to create a unique space that still echoes between rooms throughout your home. -
Accent Wall
Accent walls can include a number of different design elements. It could be a ship lap wall, a tiled wall, or a wallpaper wall. Or in this case, an 8-track wall! I am a huge fan of showcasing my client's personality through a feature wall. -
Flooring
Flooring is a really important component in making your home feel cohesive. Being aware of the number of different options available is where an interior designer can add value. Equally important is knowing which flooring complements the style of your home. For this project, a custom rug was designed. -
Art Wall
My contacts in the art industry in Denver, and beyond, has grown over the past number of years. I find art to be very personal. Through working together, I discover what really excites my clients artistically. I then am able to connect them with the curators I have relationships with. This results in a piece or collection that is not only unique, but is an extension of my client's personality. -
Window Treatments
Never underestimate the beauty of a fully dressed window. What lovely window treatments can add is almost immeasurable. Of course, functional elements are considered and can be obtained through gorgeous fabric, shades, and blinds. -
Tile
Selecting tile is another one of my favorite design decisions. Yes, there are more options than one could even imagine. I can help streamline this process and help you make the best choice within your budget. Along with choosing tile, placement, orientation, end stops, and grout color all need proper consideration. -
Wallpaper
One way to brighten your room, and your spirits, is to add a wallpaper wall. I absolutely love to be a part of choosing the right paper for my clients. It's truly an experience that should never be overlooked and always be considered. -
Counter Tops
Counter tops represent one of the most impactful aspects of any one area. With so many different materials and styles offered today, many homeowners find it more challenging than expected to design this important focal point. An ideal counter top material should offer both durability and a pleasing aesthetic that matches the overall theme of the room and home. -
Door Hardware
An important but often overlooked step in achieving the desired "look" you want for your home, is selecting the right interior cabinet and door hardware. This decision should not be taken lightly. This feature can easily elevate your home when the right choice is made. Consider it, like lighting, to be the "jewelry" of your home.
